I hope your getting ready to start walking through the SEVEN SIMPLE STEP PROCESS, over the next few sessions that will become the action steps that will make you discoverable and to give you choices between a number of possible Dream Job opportunities.

So, since this is a big deal that affects milions of individuals and most importantly, YOU, let’s try to figure out just exactly…
WHO IS RESPONSIBLE, IN THE FIRST PLACE, FOR THIS FAILURE TO BE FULFILLED?
CAN WE BLAME THE EVIL EMPLOYER? (Not really):
Most employers are honorable, decent humans. The reason that many jobs are filled with over-qualified and under utilized individuals is not the result of some evil scheme.
Think about it. Having a job opening or an empty position from the employer’s perspective, is not something to celebrate. It’s a problem that needs to be resolved immediately.
For that reason, employers do their best to find the most qualified person to fill a hole in their operation, as quickly as possible.
Bottom line, if you meet their needs, you get the job. Period. They don’t ask “What else would you like to do. Boomer?” They simply fill the need and get back to the business of doing business.
So, if it’s not the Employer’s fault, can we blame THE UNDERACHIEVING EMPLOYEE? (Not likely):
The reality is that most people look for a job when the don’t have one or when they can’t stand the one they’re in. In either case, the desire to find ANY JOB, IMMEDIATELY, is often a motivating factor in the JOB SEARCH PROCESS.
Since being stuck in a DEAD END DAY JOB is obviously undesirable and easily identifiable, “WHY DON’T DREAMERS JUST LEAVE AND FIND A BETTER JOB?”
Keeping it real : While moving on would certainly be good advice for many millions of individuals, for the average employee, the need to avoid stress, frustration and disappointment is stronger than the desire for a better job.
It can seem scarey out there.The anticipated pain and uncertainty in seeking a change is understandable, if you don’t have a logical and well defined action plan.
While most people will continue to work in a job they hate, because they see the challenge to change as more stressful than staying stuck in a dead end job.....I’m here to tell you: IT’S NOT!
LET’S DIG A LITTLE DEEPER AND ANSWER A QUESTION THAT MAY START SOME WHEELS SPINNING:
HOW DID YOU LAND SUCH A PERSONALLY UNAPPEALING JOB ASSIGNMENT IN THE FIRST PLACE?
Do you remember what it was like looking for your first job?
It may have been similar to the experience many of us had when we knocked on any door that looked like a business and asked if they were hiring.
If the answer were yes, on a good day, we filled out an application, sailed through a short interview and accepted the job, whatever that was, even without clearly understanding the job description or the rate of pay. After all, at that time, any job was better than no job.
That is a common practice when we are novice job seekers with no experience (“We’ll take whatever they offer and like it!). Unfortunately and somewhat surprisingly, the search process remains very similar for the majority of seasoned workers in future job searches.
Many are desperate, disorganized, unconfident and ill prepared for the search.
They are UNAWARE that in order to find your dream job, you absolutely need to:
